What We Do
We provide a wide range of Services
Water Justice, Artificial Intelligence and Human Future
Voices for Water Justice
We don’t just speak about water injustice — we amplify the voices of those living it, turning their cries into powerful calls for change.
This is EWNA’s primary ongoing program. It focuses on collecting, documenting, and amplifying the real stories and struggles of communities facing water injustice.
Key activities:
- Gathering voices from affected communities in 5 core countries (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, South Africa) plus presence in Togo and The Gambia.
- Producing and distributing JUSTWATER factsheets (quarterly).
- Presenting these voices during World Water Day and World Toilet Day.
- Running quarterly “Water Saves Lives” webinars linked to UN human rights reporting.
Goal:
Make community voices loud enough to influence policy and resist water privatization.
Blue Community
One church. One school. One powerful decision: To stand for public water and say “No” to privatization. Welcome to the Blue Community movement in Africa.
EWNA officially joined the global Blue Community movement on May 1, 2024. It encourages churches, schools, and communities to become “Blue Communities” by:
- Recognizing water as a human right.
- Saying no to bottled water where tap water is safe.
- Promoting public ownership and protection of water resources.
Goal:
Turn churches and schools into models of water justice and resistance to privatization.
Artificial Intelligence and Human Future
Transform your church or school into a beacon of water justice. Become a Blue Community and lead by example.
EWNA uses advocacy to push for the repair and revival of broken water infrastructure (e.g., boreholes, reservoirs, and dams in Ekiti and Oyo States, Nigeria).
In the Global South, countries may ignore the water impact of Data centres expansion to attract international investment in a way that promotes privatization of water that negates local ownership and security as this high demand will competes with basic needs of marginalized community.
These programs are all interconnected and faith-based, combining theological conviction (water as a gift from God) with practical advocacy and community action.
Goal:
Turn churches and schools into models of water justice and resistance to privatization.
